WINE HOTEL IN BORDELAIS : CHÂTEAU FOMBRAUGE

Living in the Wine History

Description

By entering the gates of the château, you are impressed by the elegance of the place, surrounded by a sumptuous French-style garden. Chateau Fombrauge is one of the most ancient properties of the Saint Emilion region whose origins date back to the XVIth century The park has been designated a world heritage site. Ancient olive trees ornament it and invite you to a wonderful promenade. There, you will also find a sundial installed in the middle of the garden in front of the chateau, appearing as a solitary witness of the passage of time.

The XVIIth century charterhouse has been transformed into a guesthouse composed of two suites, for our greatest pleasure only. Do not trust the sober and svelte lines of the castle. They reveal an elegant and luxurious interior, where have stayed, over the centuries, many noble families. Today, the guests have the privilege to live the experience of a stay in a sophisticated and refined décor: four-poster bed, purple tone, velvet seats, wood beams… We remind you that the stay is just majestic! The suites offer a unique panorama of the garden and the vineyards. The adjacent lounge is more intimate: perfect to meet your friends after a day of sightseeing or simply have a tea while reading a historical novel. Unless you prefer to relax on the terrace, overhanging vineyards, a glass of wine in hand…

Take advantage of your stay by drilling the archaeological secrets of the region and visiting the castle’s museum. Discovered on a plot of the vineyards of the domain, these archaeological remains are displayed there. Many objects dating from the iron middle age are stored there. Their exceptional conditions of preservation even surprise scientists
