One of the most beautiful residences in Burgundy
|
DescriptionThe castle was built in 1709 by the first President of the Bourguignon Parliament on the foundation of a former Cistercian priory. The renovation was led by the Ziltener family, owners since 1991. The castle’s remodeling gives cachet to the noble and ancient buildings. Its 10 rooms, apartments and suites make it the ideal and intimate meeting for wine lovers from all over the world.
A small wine museum was built in the old vaults of its abbey’s cellar. It exhibits a very valuable item : the last copy of an ancient map retained from duchy of Burgundy dated 1763, acquired by the Ziltener family through auction. Adjoining the museum, a vaulted cellar showcases the features of Burgundy and its wines. And of course, tasting high qualities of wines are regularly organized. To enrich your knowledge about the wines in the region, the wine bar of the hotel allows you to savor the mansion’s wines accompanied with small dishes from the region that are deliciously cooked. Bicycles are made available to ride throughout the region along its vineyards, villages and historical sites. And surely, you will enjoy the local specialties of the picnic basket concocted by the hotel during lunch break. Last but not least, the hotel staff would be glad to develop a customized program for you in Burgundy to meet your wine preference. The house wine of Château André Ziltener was founded in 1968 by Klaus-Dieter Ziltener. She allowed him to embody his vision, born from the desire to raise awareness of Burgundy’s wines in Switzerland, Germany and Austria. To make it more vibrant, he puts on an excellent quality and personalized sales advice that you will be able to judge yourself on the spot !
